The Hottest Wedding Trends for 2015

A new year is here! And tastes are changing. Take a look at some of the hot new trends Wedding Wire is predicting for 2015.

Greenery
You'll be seeing a lot more garlands and wreaths decorating everything from the altar to the wedding party table. And don't be surprised when you see hedges and floral arrangements trimmed in the shapes of animals.
Miniature Wedding Cakes
More couples are abandoning the idea of a great big cake, and instead asking their bakers to make several miniature cakes (see above) -- even artisanal cupcakes -- in a variety of flavors.
Laser-Cut Invitations
Laser cutting brings extraordinary detail to invitations, programs, menus, signs and table cards. The bold designs create a virtual feast for the eyes.
Modern Calligraphy
Handwritten calligraphy lends an aura of class and Old World elegance and sophistication. And some recent variations on the theme add fun and humor to the mix. Use calligraphy when addressing your invitations, or on the invitations themselves.
Rose Gold Jewelry
Rose gold is a delicate blush color; and it was a big hit at this year's Jewelers Circular Keystone show in Las Vegas.
Daring Wedding Dresses
The back is back! And so are legs and plunging necklines. Revealing gowns are back in fashion after several years of more sedate offerings. If you have the figure for it, a backless gown will make a bold statement!
Blue Men’s Attire
Make your groomsmen a blue man group. Blue tuxes -- everything from navy to royal blue -- will be big in 2015. Here are some samples of next-level looks for grooms here.
Copper
Pantone's color of the year is Marsala. And a close cousin of Marsala is copper. It's wonderful for showcasing a bride's natural skin tones; and it can be used as either a primary décor color or an accent.
Astilbe
This flower has a light feather-like appearance; and it comes in a wide range of colors -- from white to deep red, from pink to light purple. You'll see it in bouquets everywhere in 2015.
(Temporary!) Tattoo Favors
Bring the fun! Treat your guests to customized temporary tattoos with your names and wedding date. Your photographer will find all sorts of clever photo ops when your guests are all "inked up." And they'll remember how much fun it was!
Marquee Lights
You can rent personalized light banners with any words you choose. How about spelling out your names in a spectacular wall of light? Perfect for a vintage wedding.
Wedding Apps
You've already created your wedding web site. now add an app that lets your guests share information and photos from your wedding and reception. WedSocial is a good option.
Sparkly Brooches and Barrettes
Add some glamorous glitter to your veil, your brooch or your barrettes. Another big hit at vintage theme weddings.
Loose and Romantic Updos
Let your hair down -- or, in this case, up. Bridal updos are becoming looser and more romantic. Sideswept updos are in vogue, and that's expected to continue through the year.
