Should I Review My Chicago DJ? Photographer? Venue? Caterer?

Yes, yes, yes, yes… and a few more yesses!

There is no shortage of wedding and party vendors out there. Anyone who thinks he can make a few fast dollars can slap together a brightly colored ad and call himself a DJ, photographer or whatever.

Great reviews separate the proven professionals from the pretenders. A bride who wants a talented, responsive, reliable DJ or other vendor need only look to web sites like Wedding Wire or The Knot to see what past brides are saying about the people they hired. A great DJ gets great reviews; a bad DJ gets bad reviews; and a bride can make an informed choice which one is best for her wedding.

Best of all, those third-party web sites don’t let bad DJs remove bad reviews. So they are much more reliable than reviews on a DJ’s own web site.

How do you review your DJ and other vendors?

This page has fast links to Fourth Estate Audio’s review pages on Wedding Wire, Yelp, Google, The Knot and the Better Business Bureau’s web sites. Just scroll down to “How Did We Do…”

What do you say in your review?

Whatever impressed you about your vendor — good or bad. Was the vendor responsive to your calls and emails? Did he offer great resources to help you plan your celebration? Did she accurately execute your vision of your dream wedding or party? Did he deliver more than he promised? Were there any pleasant surprises in your vendor’s performance? People shopping for vendors love specifics and great stories.
