A wedding reception is your gift to your family and friends. But it's more than that. It's your first big party as a couple; and it defines who you are, and how far you've come. What do you get when you hire a DJ from Fourth Estate Audio?
At the wedding ceremony, we can, at your option, provide the proper processional and recessional music, plus any special requests during the service itself. If you have a singer who needs musical accompaniment, we can play it. We also provide a wireless microphone for the officiant and readers, and 15 minutes of quiet pre-ceremony background music at no additional charge.
During cocktails, we play appropriate background music -- usually piano instrumentals, classical music, light instrumental jazz, or the ever-popular "Rat Pack" singers (Sinatra, Bennett, Martin, Fitzgerald, Buble, etc.). If you have a different preference, we will gladly accommodate it.
During dinner, our music is usually either classical or light instrumental jazz. Again, if you prefer something else, we will be happy to customize our music accordingly, though it's best to avoid vocals during dinner because they may interfere with your guests' conversations. Your Fourth Estate Audio DJ will be happy to visit each table, meet your guests and find out what music they'd like to hear. Guaranteed to loosen them up, and make them feel like dancing.
After dinner, we introduce the bride and groom onto the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. If you want a separate song for the rest of the wedding party, we play it before opening the dance floor to your guests. In most cases, we play the bride/father and groom/mother dances a little later, so your guests can join the dancing as fast as possible instead of waiting 20 minutes with full stomachs, and nodding off to sleep. Of course, we take requests for the rest of the evening.
Here are some questions you need to consider before the wedding
"Do we want our DJ to introduce the wedding party? Or would we prefer a family member to do it?"
- Your DJ usually acts as your professional MC; but we won't be offended if you'd prefer to have someone else make your announcements.
- At a sit-down dinner, the wedding party gathers outside the room, and we introduce everyone before dinner as they parade to the main table. For a buffet, a preferred method is to introduce the wedding party onto the dance floor after dinner, then clear the floor for your first dance. - The "Your Special Songs" link at the left of the page connects you to several lists of options for your First Dance, the Bride-Father Dance, the Groom-Mother Dance and the Wedding Party Dance.
"Do we want to throw the bouquet and the garter?"
- Your DJ needs to know, to provide the proper atmosphere.
"What songs do we absolutely NOT want to hear?"
- An often overlooked part of your request list. You'll be able to share with your DJ the songs, artists and music genres you don't want to hear; and he'll honor your wishes.
