Originally built as a weekend home for International Harvester president Alexander Legge, the lodge was turned over to the Village of Hinsdale and named for Legge’s wife Katherine. Today it welcomes thousands of wedding and party guests per year.
Situated on 52 wooded acres, the Lodge provides an intimate setting for an elegant affair and plenty of room for a festive outdoor wedding ceremony.
The stately lobby, livingroom, dining room and upstairs ballroom can accommodate as many as 240 people, though most parties are smaller. Preferred vendors provide reliable catering, bar service, decorating, florals and photography.

Not only did our DJ work with us throughout the entire planning process but he was able to change our wedding date last minute after an emergency. He kept the tunes rolling all night! The lighting was beautiful inside and outside of of the lodge. Our night would not have been the same if we didn’t hire Fourth Estate Audio. Our DJ acted as the DJ but also as a coordinator. He kept the party moving and made sure all of the things that we wanted to do were completed. Great value for the price point! Highly recommend!

First off, I’ve worked in the music industry for approximately 16 years. I know ‘real deal’ guys from hacks. Jay is absolutely ‘real deal’. We had our wedding at Katherine Legge in Hinsdale. He knows the place inside and out. He even handled 2 separate soundtracks that I created for him – on separate floors – at the same time! This is a company that does great business, gives solid advice and is 100% professional during the wedding. Jay worked with me on every aspect of the music… even going as far as to download songs for the wedding that I gave him corrupt files for. He helps run the evening wonderfully – everything from quiet ‘hushes’ to joyous announcements. Even when things slipped a little off schedule, he rolled with it all beautifully and brought us back onto track. I could rave forever about his skills with the guests and choices of dance music (from our selections).
