Few venues in Chicago can boast the atmosphere of the historic Newberry Library, on the Gold Coast.
The library’s lobby is an ideal setting for a wedding ceremony, with its grand staircase as a backdrop.Or you may prefer your ceremony in the library’s stately Ruggles Hall. In the summer, you can even hold your ceremony across the street in Washington Square Park. All you need is a park district permit.
And you’ll have access to the library for your rehearsal, as well.
After your ceremony, enjoy cocktails in the lobby, followed by dinner and dancing in Ruggles Hall. The room accommodates just over 200 guests for a sit-down meal. Your bridal party will have access to its own private suite; and the newlyweds will have their own special place to get away from the evening’s chaos for some private time.
The Newberry Library partners with several exclusive caterers, all of them among Chicago’s best. And you’ll have a library representative on hand during the entire evening.
